Food waste
Introducing a separate food waste collection will reduce your business' general waste and can help to lower your waste costs. Our dedicated team are on hand to help guide you through the service. We will complete a free waste audit to fully understand the requirements of your food waste management. We will come to your premises at a date and time that suits you to discuss your requirements.
We will provide everything you need ready for your first collection. This includes bins and information on how to use the service which can be used to engage and motivate your employees to welcome the changes. Kitchen bins, caddies and caddy liners can also be provided if needed.

How is the food waste recycled?
You can be confident that we will take all of your food waste in a way that protects the environment as is fully compliant with duty of care regulations.
All of the food waste we collect is processed at an Anaerobic Digestion plant where it is recycled into renewable energy and bio fertilisers.
What type of food do you collect?
All of these materials can be included in your food waste bin:
- Bones in small quantities
- Breads, cakes and pastries
- Cooked food
- Dairy products
- Eggs and eggshells
- Fruit and vegetables (raw, cooked, and peelings)
- Meat and fish
- Plate scrapings and peelings
- Rice, pasta, and cereal
- Tea bags and coffee grounds (no filters)

Frequently asked questions
Do you supply a food waste bin?
Yes. We supply all of our customers with food waste bins free of charge. Our food waste bins are 200 litres in size and have been specially designed for food waste.
We can also provide smaller kitchen bins and caddies if required.
How do I keep my bin clean and hygenic?
To assist in keeping your bin clean, we offer a mobile bin washing service. Our experienced team will leave your bins completely clean and odour-free.
We can provide a regular or one-off cleaning service that suits your needs.
Our food waste bins have also been specially designed with a spherical base. This limits the amount of food waste residue being retained in the bin after it has been emptied.
Pre-bagging your food waste in clear bags will also help with day-to-day bin cleanliness.
What collection frequency can I have?
As a locally-based waste service provider, we offer frequent and reliable collections and multi week collections are widely available. Our team will ensure collections are arranged to suit the needs of your business and the amount of food waste produced.
Do you take packaged food?
Yes - providing the waste is in its primary packaging. For example, pre-packaged sandwiches; we can take the sandwiches in the sandwich packaging but not the outer packaging they are delivered in.
Surplus food redistribution
Preventing food waste at source should always be the priority and no business wants to let good food go to waste. However, surpluses can arise for a number of reasons; for example, food incorrectly labelled, over-ordered, over-supplied or obsolete seasonal stock.
Alongside our Food Waste Recycling service, we have partnered with UK Harvest to help your business redistribute its surplus food.
UK Harvest is a local charity who will collect your unwanted food and give it to those who need it most, free of charge. The charity collects from a variety of places including farms, supermarkets, food suppliers and even events, before delivery to charities such as homeless shelters, refuges, youth and community groups.
UK Harvest will collect any edible food that is within its 'Use by' date. Almost anything is accepted, so long as it is food-safe and from a recognised organisation.
