January 2025

On 29 January 2025 Chichester College, in partnership with Chichester District Council, hosted the highly anticipated 'All the Ingredients for Successful Sustainability' event, bringing together businesses from across the district to discuss and explore sustainable practices for a greener future.

The event was a huge success, with great conversations, insightful discussions, and valuable networking taking place throughout the evening.

Chichester District Council's Business Waste & Recycling Service were on hand to engage with local businesses and provide advice and support on the upcoming 'Simpler Recycling' reforms which comes into force in March 2025.

As separate collections of food waste will become mandatory for businesses, this was a standout topic which sparked lively and informative discussions. Several attendees are already using our food waste service and were particularly interested in learning more about how we can help to reduce food waste further. Many also found our advice on effective waste segregation and sustainability practices incredibly useful, especially understanding the range of items we can collect for recycling in one bin.

It was also fantastic to see so many of our valued customers attending the event.

Their positive feedback reaffirmed the high standard of service we strive to provide.

Here's what some of our valued customers had to say:

  • Farmhouse Kitchen:  "Excellent service from an excellent crew."
  • Woodfire Camping: "Excellent service - would highly recommend."
  • Stubcroft Farm: "Would happily recommend and promote us."
  • Ghost at the Feast: "Really happy with our services so far."

We were also thrilled to explore new opportunities to support local businesses in achieving their sustainability goals. Our team were on hand to share ideas on how we can help businesses reduce their environmental impact while making waste management simpler and more efficient.

Despite the rainy weather, the event was a great reminder of the strong sense of community and the shared commitment to a more sustainable future.

We look forward to continuing our work with local businesses to help them improve their waste management strategies and reach their sustainability targets.

Thank you to everyone who joined us - we can't wait to see you at future events and continue working together towards a greener, more sustainable Chichester!
